How Counselling Can Help:

Counselling can help us get things off our chest that we have been keeping in and not expressing which can be a relief to our nervous system. It can hep us feel heard, validated and accepted . It provides a space to explore our thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences and gain perspective as we process and move forward. It can provide support in difficult times, challenge the thoughts/ patterns that can hold us back or make us feel anxious and low, and help us build confidence to be empowered to make the changes we want to see in our lives.

Issues I can help with:

I help people with…

Anxiety, Depression/Low mood, Stress and Workplace Stress, Grief and Loss, Low Self-esteem, Motivational issues, Relationship issues and working towards or though changes in your life. I am not specialised in neurodiversity but I am very familiar with the challenges involved and have supported neurodivergent clients.

What is Pluralistic Therapy?

Therapy can use different approaches and pluralistic therapy combines multiple approaches to be the most helpful to each individual.

My counselling work combines 3 approaches.

Firstly Person-Centred therapy allows me to provide a safe place to explore feelings and emotions and the client is treated as an expert in their own life and sessions are led by client needs. This involves a safe and trusting relationship to feel comfortable to explore thoughts and feelings in a non-judgemental accepting space

Secondly I use the psychodynamic approach to explore how the past and our defence mechanisms are affecting our present. Working through unresolved issues can help us understand our emotions and behaviour, and help us move forward in a healthy way.

Finally I use Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help challenge negative/anxious thoughts that can affect our lives and help us feel less anxious and more in control and confident.

I also practice therapy in an inclusive and neurodiversity affirming way and I am happy to make adjustments to how therapy is delivered to accommodate needs such as breaks, adjustments for sensory needs, and freedom to stim/ move if needed.

I offer a free consultation and I am very friendly so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
